The appointment of Richard Westwood to our Board of Trustees  Reconciliation Initiatives

Reconciliation Initiatives (RI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Westwood to our Board of Trustees.

Richard has been Team Vicar of St Anne’s Church in Chasetown in the Diocese of Lichfield for nine years and is a graduate of RI’s Reconciling Mission Programme. Having benefitted from the insights and experience gained from the programme he is keen to help further the work of Reconciliation Initiatives.

Richard has been Team Vicar of St Anne’s, Chasetown in Lichfield Diocese since 2016, and he is a graduate of RI’s Reconciling Mission programme. Having benefitted from the insights and experience gained, he is keen to help further RI’s work and ministry.

Richard is also a trustee of mutual aid charity Burntwood Be A Friend, and he helps lead the Link for Life Project enabling young people to form life-changing partnerships with communities in southern Africa.

Moira Astin, RI’s Chair of Trustees said: “As a board of trustees, we recognise the value of having one of our number who has direct experience of the Reconciling Mission programme, our charity’s main offering. I am therefore really pleased that Richard Westwood has accepted our invitation to join us as a trustee: he brings a passion for local churches’ engagement with their neighbourhood and community, and insight into how RI can contribute to that. He is a most welcome addition to our team.”

Richard Westwood said: “My involvement in the Reconciling Mission programme in 2021/2 gave me a wonderful mixture of challenge, encouragement and inspiration. I’ve benefitted so much from what I have learned, and I hope and believe that the church and community in which I serve have also gained as a result. I am therefore delighted to have been asked to serve as a trustee for Reconciliation Initiatives. I look forward to playing a part in the growth and development of this wonderful, missional arm of the church.”
