RI launches work in Kenya with new Project Manager  Reconciliation Initiatives

We’re pleased to share that Reconciliation Initiatives (RI) is expanding its work into a new country, Kenya, through a new partnership with the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK). Together, we will be delivering pilot learning and development programmes in 2025 and 2026.

As part of this significant step, we’re delighted to welcome Revd Fedis Nyagah as Project Manager for our Kenya programmes. Fedis will work closely with RI’s Executive Director, Alastair McKay, and a team of Kenyan facilitators to deliver our latest programme offering: Practical Peacemaking: A Learning & Development Programme for ACK Bishops, Clergy & Spouses.

Reflecting on her new role, Revd Fedis Nyagah, said: “I feel honoured to join Reconciliation Initiatives at a time when the Church in Kenya is being called to lead with wisdom, humility, and courage in the face of everyday conflict. I bring lived experience and skills in creating safe and transformative spaces where Bishops, clergy and their spouses can reflect, heal, and strengthen their capacity to deal with conflict. In the Kenyan context, this includes transforming tribal, intra-faith, and interfaith tensions in constructive and life-giving ways. I believe that resilient and reconciled leaders have the potential to bring healing not only within the Church but also across the communities they serve and together. I look forward to being part of nurturing a generation of peacebuilders committed to reconciliation with God, with self, and with one another thus building bridges for reconciled lives and ministries.”

Our Executive Director, Alastair McKay, said: “I’m truly delighted to see Fedis joining the RI team as our Project Manager for Kenya. Fedis brings strong connections within the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), with whom we will be working in partnership. In her first few months, Fedis will be focussed on helping us to develop a pilot programme for ACK Bishops and their spouses. The programme will aim to resource Bishops and their spouses for better handling the tensions and conflicts that they face in their roles and ministries as senior leaders in the church. Fedis brings rich experience in working with senior leaders from her previous role along with strong organisational skills. I am so pleased to welcome her as part of the RI team.”

This marks an important milestone for RI as we begin work in a new country. We look forward to sharing regular updates on Fedis’s work and the development of this new programme in Kenya.
