Our director, Alastair McKay, is delighted to announce the appointment of Amber Jackson as the new Communications Lead for Reconciliation Initiatives (RI).
Amber comes to RI with a wealth of experience in the church, having worked for several dioceses and Anglican organisations, such as Together in Sussex. She also has wider charity sector experience, including work with Ronald McDonald Housing Charity and Crisis.
She previously served as Communications Manager for the Diocese of Salisbury and the Diocese in Europe. Additionally, she was responsible for producing all the content for the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Thy Kingdom Come initiative when it first launched in 2016, now an annual campaign.
Amber said, “I’m thrilled to be working for Reconciliation Initiatives and with Alastair and his gifted colleagues. In a world where we face major challenges, local churches have a unique opportunity to address inequalities and strengthen relationships. I’m excited to help move this vision forward through RI’s communications.”
Amber will bring strategic direction to the communications work of RI while ensuring it remains responsive to immediate communication demands.
Welcoming Amber’s appointment, Alastair said, “I’m delighted that Amber has accepted the invitation to join RI’s able team of Associates. Amber was clearly the strongest candidate, bringing a breadth of relevant experience of communications in church and Anglican contexts. She joins us at a time of growth in our Reconciling Mission programme, and with the prospect of beginning work with the Anglican Church of Kenya in East Africa. Amber will play a key part in developing RI’s communications strategy and help us to communicate effectively and joyfully.”
